Artist Statement

Through my work, I am committed to exploring the complex layers of emotion, memory and perception that shape the existence of the self. I draw inspiration from psychology, theology and nature in an attempt to unravel the complexities of the self's psyche.
Each of my creative processes is an intimate journey of self-discovery, where I navigate the realm of the self's subconscious and discover hidden truths.
The psychoanalytical exploration of the subconscious is central to my artistic practice, and symbolism and metaphor are integral to my work. Using a variety of media, including painting, sculpture and mixed media installations, I create a dialogue that transcends personal experience through a synthesis of personal narratives and universal themes, exploring the individual presence hidden within the collective in an inviting way.
